October 13-February 28, Santa Clara, CA – "On the Same Map: A Photo Exhibition Celebrating Partners In Health's 20 Years of Health and Social Justice” continues to be on display on the campus of Santa Clara University. This exhibit depicts the clinics and communities where PIH has forged partnerships with patients and local health workers to combat AIDS, tuberculosis, hunger, poverty and injustice over the past 20 years.
January 28, 4:30-6pm, Boston, MA – Sarah Marsh, who works as the Women’s Health Coordinator for PIH in Haiti, will speak at Suffolk University on a panel about Global Women's Health Issues. More details to come.
February 23, Richmond, VA – Donna Barry PIH Director of Advocacy and Policy will address the the University of Richmond's Health and Human Rights Club with a talk titled "What We Can Do to Solve Global Health Disparities". This talk will be held on the campus of the University of Richmond and will be open to the public. More details to come as the event grows closer.
March 27, Cambridge, MA – The Seventh Annual Urban Walk for Haiti brings together communities from the Boston region to support PIH. This year, the walk will raise money for primary and secondary students at Ecole Bon Sauveur on the Cange medical campus run by PIH / ZL. The event will feature a PIH speaker, local Haitian vendors selling crafts, clothing and delicious food, and musicians. More information.
April 10, Hartford, CT – Join the Hartford Walk for Haiti. This walk-a-thon will focus attention on the needs of the Haitian people, and to raise money for PIH. Visit here for more details!

April 17-18, New Haven, CT – PIH Medical Director Joia Mukherjee will speak at the 2010 Global Health & Innovation Conference. Held on the campus of Yale University, the conference convenes over 200 speakers, more than 2,200 students and professionals from 55 countries who are interested in global health and international development, public health, medicine, social entrepreneurship, nonprofits, philanthropy, microfinance, human rights, anthropology, health policy, advocacy, public service, environmental health, and education. Recent PIH Events
December 3-7, Cancun, Mexico – The 40th Union World Conference on Lung Health organized by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD) was held December 3-7, 2009 in Cancún, Mexico. The theme of the conference, "Poverty and lung health," gave an opportunity to take measures of the progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals in the areas of TB, HIV/AIDS, childhood pneumonia, asthma and tobacco related diseases. PIH Medical Director Joia Mukherjee and other colleagues from PIH and our partner organizations gave presentations.
December 5, 12:00pm, Fredonia, NY – Students Teaching Equals Positive Sexuality (STEPS) at SUNY-Fredonia will hosted its third annual Chautauqua County AIDS Walk on Dec. 5th. The event's proceeds benefited PIH and the group continues to raise campus and community awareness about AIDS. The event was open to the public. December 1, Boston, MA – PIH Medical Director Joia Mukherjee spoke on a panel as a part of Northeastern University’s celebration of World AIDS day.
December 1, 12:00-1:00pm, Boston, MA – PIH Co-Founder, Paul Farmer gave an introduction talk at the 2009 Brigham and Women's Hospital Victor Dzau Lecture in Global Health Equity. The main presentation entitled "Mesoamerica: Health Opportunities for a Neglected Region" was given by Jaime Sepulveda, Director of Integrated Health Solutions Development.
November 20, 6:00-7:30pm, Montreal, Canada – PIH Director of Advocacy and Policy Donna Barry delivered a keynote speech entitled “Treating the Whole Person” at McGill University. The speech addressed the need to continue the enhancement of HIV/AIDS projects. In addition, she will spoke about the successes and ‘"not-so-successes" of various HIV/AIDS projects around the world. This event was a part of McGill’s World AIDS Week.
November 19, 7:00pm, Brookings, SD – PIH co-founder Paul Farmer delivered the Griffith Honors Forum Lecture at South Dakota State University. His talk, "Rethinking Health and Human Rights," addressed the AIDS epidemic as the leading infectious cause of young adult death in much of the developing world. More information.
November 18, 5:15pm, Cambridge, MA – PIH co-founder Paul Farmer delivered a response to a lecture by Dr. Arthur Kleinman, a medical anthropologist at Harvard University. The lecture was entitled "Religious Values and Global Health."
November 12, 8:00pm EST – Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tracy Kidder and PIH physician David Walton, who works with PIH projects in Haiti, joined book parties hosted by PIH supporters across the country for a live webcast event, Read, Connect, Act: A Day of Nationwide Book Parties on Global Health. Participants discussed the bestselling books Mountains Beyond Mountains and Strength in What Remains, and had their questions answered by Tracy and David. Watch a video from this event.

October 29, 12:00-2:00pm, Washington, DC – The world faces a global health crisis, one that can be solved with a comprehensive global health strategy. The United States has a unique and crucial role to play, and current initiatives—including the Obama Administration’s Global Health Initiative and Congressional efforts to reform U.S. foreign assistance — offer a promising start. This Policy Forum offered specific recommendations for the next phase of U.S. global health policy, and discussed new ways that advocates and policy makers can work together to make this vision a reality.
October 19, New York, NY – Academy Award-winning actors Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline teamed up with producer/playwright Tony Kushner and other Broadway and Hollywood luminaries to benefit Partners In Health and American Jewish World Service by reprising Public Theater's 2006 production of Mother Courage and her Children. Daniel Craig, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Linda Emond, Mike Nichols, Jenifer Lewis, Austin Pendleton, Frederick Weller, and the Broadway cast of Hair also joined the cast.

October 8, 7:00-8:30pm, San Diego, CA –The 2009 – 2010 Joan B. Kroc Distinguished Lecture Series kicked off with a lecture by Dr. Paul Farmer who examined the connection between peace and development. The event was held in Camino Hall on the campus of the University of San Diego.
October 3, 3:00pm, Cambridge, MA – Partners In Health held its 15th annual Thomas J. White Symposium on the afternoon in the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University. This yearly event brought together PIH staff, family, friends and fellow activists and advocates for health and social justice for the poor. More information.
September 28, Emmistburg, MD – Dr. David Walton, who has been working with PIH since 1997, divides his time between Haiti and Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital. He spoke about the work of PIH to incoming Mount St. Mary’s University students who have read Mountains Beyond Mountains.
September 23, Helena, MT – The Carroll College Alpha Seminar committee selected Mountains Beyond Mountains as a common reading experience for incoming first-year students to read over the summer. PIH physician David Walton joined the eager campus and discuss the work of PIH with students and community members.
